Furniture & Whitegoods What about renting a furnished apartment ...... There are fully and partially furnished apartments and houses around but not a lot. Obviously furnished is more expensive than unfurnished. This can be beneficial if you are renting for a short period of time, maybe a year or less. If you were planning to stay in Melbourne for more than a year then it would be better, financially, to buy secondhand furniture. What about renting furniture and whitegoods....... All rental properties have stoves/ovens and sometimes a dishwasher but you usually have to bring in a fridge, microwave, television, washing machine etc. There are furniture and whitegoods rental companies who you can get deals from but again it would be cheaper to buy secondhand if you were planning to stay for a year or more. Visit www.allstatewhitegoods.com.au or www.mrrentals.com.au for the prices you would have to pay to rent whitegoods.
So, Where will I find the cheapest option? OPPORTUNITY SHOPS Most of the Opportunity shops in Melbourne have beds and mattresses (which have to be of a certain standard to be sold as second hand) in all sizes. They have cupboards, bedside tables, couches of all size, shape and colour, tables, chairs AND much more...... cutlery, crockery, glassware, saucepans and cooking utensils. Anything and everything. All at very cheap prices.

YOUR HOSPITAL There are many people moving here and there in the hospital system and each hospital has a notice board with anything that someone might want to sell. |
